How many needles do you use, and how long do they stay in place?
Depending on a patient’s condition, anywhere from 10 to 20 needles are placed shallowly in the top few layers of skin. They remain in the skin for 20 to 30 minutes.
How are needles stored and disposed?
The needles come in a sterile, tightly sealed package. After use, they are disposed of in a biohazard container.
Is the insertion of needles into the body painful?
The initial insertion may feel like a tiny prick or tap followed by a sensation of movement, something flowing up and down within the body.
How long does a typical session last?
A complete acupuncture session lasts from 45 to 60 minutes, but may last up to 90 minutes depending on additional holistic or orthopedic treatments.
How will I feel after the treatment?
Most people feel relaxed and rested after acupuncture, but reactions may vary. Some people feel energized after treatment, while others may experience mild soreness.
When will I feel results?
Depending on a patient’s condition and how their body responds to the treatment, one may feel results immediately or it may take up six sessions.
